Nicolas Aguilar joins Celtic SC as Asst. Director of Soccer Operations

We are pleased to announce the addition of Nicolas Aguilar, Celtic’s new Assistant Director of Soccer Operations. Aguilar will take the reins of his new position starting June 15th, 2019 and assist JJ Ruane with preparations for the 2019-20 season. Aguilar currently holds a USSF ‘C’ license and a United Soccer Coaches Advanced National Diploma. He is the former Director of Eclipse Select NWI where he help develop close to 60 players for ECNL, 2 Female Youth National players in their respective age groups, a President’s Cup finalist, and grew NWI Eclipse from 60 to 120 players in 3 years.

“Nick’s high level approach to training and player development made this an easy decision. He has worked with some of the top talent in Northwest Indiana and Chicago as part of Eclipse Select and he will continue his work with our players at Celtic. I am glad to have someone of his caliber in Palatine to help lead our players,” commented JJ Ruane on the new hire.

Aguilar replaces Cesar Sanchez who left Celtic in March. Nick will further assist in our player development model. Our model is unique to Celtic and every player from U6 to U18 travels down the same path. He will also be coaching teams within Celtic and the players will benefit from his experience and his overall expertise in youth coaching. He has developed high level players everywhere he has been and will continue to do so here at Celtic.

Nick’s past coaching experiences include Eclipse Select, LTSC Union, Team Evanston, and FCX South. His coaching experience is matched by his playing experiences with stints at North Central plus Division I schools Wisconsin and Kentucky. His combination of experiences in both coaching and playing has led Nick to become one of the premier developers of talent in Chicagoland. Aguilar has coached all ages from U7 to U19.

Please give a warm Celtic welcome to Nicolas Aguilar!
