Celtic Soccer Club - Referees

The Palatine Celtic Soccer Club is responsible for coordinating all referees for the House Program and the Assistant Referees (AR) for all home games in the Travel Program.  As an affiliate of the Palatine Park District (PPD), our goal is to provide a quality referee program for our soccer programs and to support our community with job opportunities for youth and adult referees.  There is a separate form is you are interested in being a referee in the Celtic Cup Tournament.

In an effort to maintain the highest quality referee program, we require that all House referees must be certified at least once by the U.S. Soccer Federation.  Our Travel AR program requires that the referee must have a current certification and not have allowed it to lapse.  Therefor, in support of our commitment to quality referees, the Celtic Club passed a motion in 2006 that states "the Club cover the costs to a maximum of $55 each to recertify referees that have completed six Club-assigned games the previous season or at the discretion of the Referee Assignor."

The Celtic Club sponsored a referee clinic on Feb 23-24 from 9-5pm in the Police Training Room at 200 Wood St.  We have requested to host an additional clinic, but it has not been approved by the IYSA yet.  Sign-up for this clinic and all other clinics can be found at IYSA Referee Clinics.  Once certified, all referees are required to become a PPD employee in order to be paid and covered under the PPD risk management program.  New employee packets are available at the PPD offices at 250 E. Wood St, Palatine, IL 60067.  These packets need to be completed before referees are allowed to ref any Celtic Club games.

All interested referees need to attend the House and Travel AR Referee meeting to receive information and to be considered for assignments.  If you are not on our contact list and would like to become a part of the Celtic referee program, please view our Referee Corner, complete the form, and you will receive notifications via email.

Important dates to keep in mind:
